As parents too, we understand how important this process is for both the you and your baby. The thought of a helmet can be stressful to new parents hearing this for the first time. We are here to alleviate any stress and fear associated with a helmet. Also, we will address any questions and concerns associated with the process of getting and wearing a helmet.
What is a Cranial Helmet
Cranial remolding helmets are used to correct the shape of an infant’s skull. Babies skulls are soft when they are born and are sometimes misshapen due to a variety of reasons.
The most common reason is plagiocephaly, which is a flattening on one side of the back of the baby’s head, usually caused by sleeping on one side.
Another type of head flattening is brachycephaly. Similar to plagiocephaly, this is flattening across the back of the baby’s head caused by constantly sleeping on their back in one position.
